My attorney is going to ask for a home study. I live in CT and I was wondering what to expect. I currently live in the marital home with my daughters (2 1/2 and 11 weeks). He sees the older one on Wed 5:30 - 7:30 and Sat or Sun for 8 hours. He is supposed to see the infant in the house on Mon & Thurs 5:30 - 7:30 (he also gets to see the older child then too). I have posted on the other boards about reasons I am seeking sole custody (he wants joint) and this is why a study is being ordered. We tried mediation, but everything the mediator suggested he decided to do the opposite (blew off counseling sessions, comes late to pick up and return, etc). Anyway, how long does it take to complete the study and return to court for a decision? What information will the people doing the study be looking for? Do you bring up domestic violence with them? Other issues of concern? What can I expect?
