Good advice...I feel though that I should suggest caution when meeting with the assessor/home study psychologist...don't confuse this person with someone who particularily cares about, or needs to hear your points of view on a given subject. What you say and how you say it can appear in the report as something quite different than what you actually intended your words to be heard.

Answer their questions honestly, but don't elaborate. Do not express, with negative adjectives, your less than flattering opinions of the other party. Be protective of the children in your care, without appearing over protective. Don't allow the negative truths that you know about the other party - to be the focus of your assessment. Don't show anger or disgust toward the other party. This can and does come back to bite you.

Unfortunately, a person can't really be 'themselves' completely during the evaluations - distain toward the other party must be kept in check. Find another method of expressing your concerns for the safety and well being of the children.

Consider obtaining both the Win Child Custody and Custody Evaluation Videos at http://www.winchildcustody.com and http://www.custodyevaluation.com They will be invaluable for your case.
